Atelier Coffee
Packaging and retail direction for a small-batch coffee company built around craft, origin and everyday ritual.
Packaging and retail direction for a small-batch coffee company built around craft, origin and everyday ritual.
The brief
The company had strong sourcing relationships and loyal local customers, but the packaging felt generic and did not explain why each coffee was distinct.
Our approach
We created a simple information hierarchy that gives origin, process and flavour equal weight. Each roast uses a quiet base system with one changing colour and one changing typographic gesture, making the range easy to navigate without turning every bag into a separate brand.
What changed
The system improved shelf recognition, simplified seasonal launches and gave the team a consistent way to tell producer stories online and in-store.
Good packaging should make the product easier to understand before it tries to impress.
